weVENTURE Women’s Business Center in the Florida Tech Bisk College of Business strives to be the leading voice and resource for professional women on the Space and Treasure Coasts. Since 2012, we have hosted the Women Who Rock Awards in Brevard County as a way to elevate the profile of local women doing amazing work and leading through action. This year, we are excited to partner with the SBDC at Indian River State College and PNC Bank to honor the 2023 Women Who Rock.

Plato once said, “What is honored in a community will be cultivated there.” It is important that we take the time to recognize, thank and celebrate female leaders in business and our community so that we might inspire the next generation of young women to follow in their footsteps.

March is Women’s History Month and the perfect opportunity to celebrate women making history right here in our own community. So, mark your calendars and plan to join us on March 28 as we honor the following outstanding women: 

Small Business Owner of the Year: Tessa Adams, Co-Owner of Phatz Chick N Shack, with locations in Ft. Pierce and Vero Beach, as well as owner of Life U Save, a CPR & safety training business.

 

Executive of the Year: Rebecca Miller, Founder and President of MPLD Consulting, a full-service development consulting firm.

 

Women Trending in Tech: Amy Stapleton, CEO and Co-Founder of Chatables,  a company that builds narrative-driven interactive voice experiences and talking virtual characters to address loneliness and isolation among aging adults.

 

Excellence in Mentorship: Maddie Williams, Executive Director of the Treasure Coast Builders Association

 

Excellence in Caregiving: Keren Wheeler, Owner and CEO of Evergreen Private Care

 

Excellence in Community Service: Fabiola Simon, current President of the Royal Palms volunteer organization, volunteer with the St. Lucie Chamber of Commerce, and founder the Fab Moms Brunch event honoring local mompreneurs.
