About the Program

Thanks to Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, weVENTURE WBC has hired business coaches dedicated to working with clients from Palm Bay.  Though this funding is usually restricted to affordable housing and related matters, Congress expanded its uses to include special economic development to support entrepreneurs in census tracts with a majority low- or moderate-income (LMI) residents – and Palm Bay officials tapped weVENTURE WBC to help.

All businesses in Palm Bay will be asked to complete a LMI self-declaration form from HUD in addition to the required SBA 641 form all weVENTURE WBC clients must complete.  Those individuals or businesses in qualifying census tracts will work with one of the dedicated Palm Bay Business Coaches.  All other clients will be assigned to another weVENTURE WBC coach.

As part of the program, qualifying businesses may also have the opportunity to participate in special programming, like Peer Groups or IGNITE 360, at no cost.

Using the CDBG-CV funds in this way has expanded the capacity of weVENTURE WBC to serve those businesses most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Contact a weVENTURE WBC Business Coach to get started today!
