Hirricane Irma Assistance

We hope you are all well and that your recovery efforts are moving along after Hurricane Irma.

If your business received damage as a result of the storm, it is imperative to fill out a damage assessment form for the state by visiting www.flvbeoc.org. The information provided in the Damage Assessment Form will assist state and local agencies in drawing down federal resources and implement state programs that will assist in local business-recovery efforts.

Women's Business Center Program

 

The Women's Business Center at weVENTURE offers a business coaching program that assists start-ups and established business owners (1-2 years) who could benefit from one-on-one counseling sessions with experienced business experts who provides positive support, feedback and advice to individuals who wish to utlize our programs and services. The business coaching program is facilitated by experienced business coaches and trained volunteers, and is offered to clients through our Women's Busines Center program at weVENTURE and in collaboration with the University Business Incubator which is housed at the Center for Entrepreneurship and New Busines Development at Florida Tech's Nathan M. Bisk COllege of Business..

 

Our Business Coaching Program follows best practices in business coaching and offers an accountability element in support emerging entrepreneurs and start-ups, and include one or more of the following activities:

  • All business coaching participants must attend a Launch Your Venture 101 Workshop (Session one)
  • Sesion two is an initial screening consultation,  completed over the phone, followed by one or more of the following activities: 
    • a one-on-one counseling session to create your Individual Entrepreneurial Plan (IEP)
    • monthly 15 minute follow-up phone or email check-in to see how you are progressing
    • small group cohort sessions (peer-to-peer support) on how to use and incorporate the Business Model Canvas to better understand how your business activity will flow
  • This is a program designed to offer long-term counseling support to business owners and entrepreneurs.
  • This is NOT a mentoring program. Business Coaches provide the needed guidance, and business fundamentals to develop a strong business model for success based on your strengths.

Our coaching clients are:

  • self-starters
  • eager to learn

Coaching program participants are encouraged to complete the Entrepreneurial Profile 10 Assessment  (Cost is approx. $12.00 to client) to learn more about their individual strengths and how these can be used to see you reach your goal of business ownership.

Our coaching clients also grow in the areas of personal development and accountability, business planning and development, and leadership. 

These coaching sessions are offered at no-cost and completely confidential.

The Women's Business Center is currently looking for Volunteer Business Coaches for our programs. If you are an experienced business professional and are interested in helping start-up entrepreneurs and small business owners to move forward, we would like to hear from you.
