The Zonta Yellow Rose Award for Excellence in Community Service
Since 1999, the Zonta Rose has served as the symbol of Zonta Rose Day, which coincides with International Women’s Day on March 8 It was introduced in 1984 as a living symbol of Zonta International. The renowned England-based nursery Harkness Roses cultivated the flower.
Each year in honor of Zonta Rose Day, Zontians all over the world present a yellow rose to men and women who have honored Zonta’s vision by helping women achieve their full potential.
The lovely yellow bloom of the Zonta Rose can be seen in the forecourt of Australia’s National Parliament in Canberra and at Bältespännarparken in Gothenburg, Sweden, and in gardens, memorial plantings, schools, hospitals and homes for the elderly around the globe.
